Poker staking with friends

Sell a % of yourpoker tournaments.

Your group buys their share. The raccoon does the maths.

Example: raul.mtt sells 60% of his Sunday Million (€109.00 buy-in, 1.15 markup). marta (20%), dani_vlc (15%), inigo (15%) and lucia.p (10%) buy in. He finishes 31st and wins €5,840.00: he pays €3,428.79 out to his backers and keeps €2,302.21.

One tournament, from the sale to the last euro

What you now do with messages, notes and a spreadsheet, in one place. Here’s how raul.mtt’s Sunday Million goes with four friends on board.

  1. You post the tournament

Buy-in, markup and how much you’re selling. The price of each 1% works itself out and your group sees it straight away.

  2. Your people buy their share

Everyone picks how much they want. You accept or reject each purchase, and once it’s all sold, it closes.

  3. You all follow it live

You log chips, blinds and players left. Anyone with a share sees it without asking you in the chat.

  4. It settles itself

Enter the prize and each backer sees one figure: their share minus what they paid. No calculator, no screenshots.

What each backer gets

raul.mtt finishes 31st of 61,418 and wins €5,840.00. marta, who had 20%, gets

+€1,142.93

Her 20% of €5,840.00
€1,168.00
Minus what she paid for her 20%
−€25.07
What raul.mtt pays her
+€1,142.93

Same for the other three: raul.mtt pays €3,428.79 out to his backers and keeps €2,302.21. Nobody opens a calculator.

A whole series, a swap and who pays whom

Packs

Group the tournaments of one night or a whole festival. Whoever buys 5% of the pack has 5% of every tournament, and it all settles together when the pack closes.

Swaps

If you’re both playing the same tournament, you swap a percentage and share the variance. Once you’ve both entered your result, the difference works itself out.

Who pays whom

When each tournament closes, everyone has one figure. Whoever pays marks it as paid and whoever is owed confirms it. You move the money yourselves, by bank transfer, Revolut or whatever suits you: Railcoon never touches it.

Your group.No one else.

Railcoon isn’t an open marketplace: each group is a private room. You only see people you share a group with, and anyone who already has stakes or settlements with you.

Frequently asked questions

Is Railcoon free?

Yes. Signing up, creating groups and everything else is free. No fees, no subscriptions.

How do I invite my people?

Create your group and send its invite link on WhatsApp or wherever you like, or invite each person by email. Once they’re in, they can see your tournaments and buy a share.

Can I be in more than one group?

Yes. You can be in your Thursday home game and your study group at the same time. You only see people you share a group with, and anyone who already has stakes or settlements with you.

Who sees my tournaments?

Only the people in your groups. Nothing is published outside Railcoon or shows up in search engines.

How does automatic settlement work?

Close the tournament, enter the result and Railcoon does the maths. Everyone sees what they get or owe; whoever pays marks it as paid and whoever is owed confirms it.

What happens if I cancel a tournament with backers?

Every purchase in that tournament is cancelled and nobody owes anything. Your backers get a notification.

How do we pay each other?

Railcoon never touches your money. You pay each other however suits you: bank transfer, Revolut, PayPal or transfers between poker sites.

What are swaps?

Two players in the same tournament swap a percentage and share the variance. Once both have entered their result, Railcoon works out who pays whom.
